Brandon Smith was born in San Diego California, and from a young age was deeply involved in exploring and bridging cultures. As a youth he performed and co-lectured in ethnomusicology at San Diego State University, as a member of the Center for World Music. He has had experience teaching and promoting intercultural communication at Musashi University, and was a panelist at the Anthropology of Japan in Japan Conference’s panel at Seijo University. Brandon’s passion for language and culture brought him to Japan where he interned translating at both the United States Embassy and Minato City Hall, before earning his Bachelor’s in Asian Studies with a Certificate in Japanese language studies from Temple University. Currently, Brandon is engaged in using his unique experiences and studies to provide culturally accurate, meaningful and concise transcreations.
